Ramona has a career history of providing counselling, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, program management, and clinical supervision in non-profit, private and corporate settings. She has been a therapist for over 25 years and is an experienced EFAP professional.
Ramona has a BA with Distinction from the University of Alberta and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University. She completed post-graduate training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the University of Washington in Seattle. Ramona is a passionate learner and engages in ongoing professional development. She is certified in Critical Incident Stress Management.
Ramona is experienced in working with individuals, couples, and families, and is skilled in working with a wide range of client issues. Ramona has provided community education on counselling, grief and loss, depression, and intimate partner violence via seminars, published articles, and television and newspaper interviews. She has provided critical incident stress management for First Responders working in Hospitals, Fire, Ambulance, and the Coast Guard, to name a few. Ramona has provided workplace consultations to Senior Management in municipal, provincial, and Federal government, as well as social service and private sector organizations regarding workplace conflict and employee mental health concerns.
In addition to her role as a clinical counsellor, Ramona is a respected Clinical Supervisor who provides clinical guidance and mentorship for new and seasoned counsellors, both in her private practice and on a volunteer basis.
